Delicious local farm fresh food
Choose from a variety of venues which cater for the family, whether it’s good old fashioned country food or top end cuisine. Taste some fabulous local cheeses, relishes and sauces on your stay.
Mary Valley Country is famous for its dairy, beef and agriculture industries. It has a diverse range of soil types and ecosystems enabling it to support a large variety of agriculture. This has encouraged a budding industry to develop in locally grown gourmet products.
Markets in the region and food events like GourMAY or the Kenilworth Wine and Food Festival showcase the valley’s fine foods annually.
48 Hours in the Mary Valley
Queensland.com blog post by Danielle Reckless
If you’re travelling from Brisbane, hit the road early and make Kenilworth your first stop en route to Mary Valley. Your destination? Kenilworth Country Bakery. Whether your tastes swing sweet or savoury; there’re treats to be devoured.
Round it out with a visit to Kenilworth Dairies, one of the best ways to experience the region’s gastronomy. Pick up award-winning local cheese (the sharp Red Malling Vintage uses the same recipe since the 1920s), panna cotta and a few more small goods for your picnic basket. Click here to keep reading
